Red and Hot Herbal Healing Remedy

Red and hot is used to describe and name many things. Medicinally speaking red and  hot herbs have been used to treat and cure various ailments. History shows that cayenne (dried fruit ) was use to treat mouth sores and inflamed gum by the ancient Maya. Hard as it may have been to handle the burning sensation associated with cayenne it is a powerful healing remedy. In the 18th century it was discovered that cayenne could restore the body's natural heat from exposure to cold temperatures that was believe to be the major cause of much sickness.  Many years later, Dr. John Christopher made an atonishing discovery about healing with cayenne.  He concluded that cayenne was one of the best herbal remedy supporting the cardiovascular system.

As we know it today, capsaicin the active ingredient in cayenne is found in creams, lotions, and ointments such as Capzasin-HP Arthritis Relief and Icy Hot Pain Reliever.  Many of us have used these pain relieve products before so we know now that cayenne is more useful and valuable than a simple hot pepper.

Cayenne is available in various forms including fresh & dried pepper, powdered, capsules, and tablets. In the powdered form a tea can be made by stirring a teaspoon of powdered cayenne in a cup of hot water.  DO NOT Drop it like it's hot.

Another red healing herb is that of cranberry. Cranberries are very popular in the form of cranberry sauce  during holidays, especially Thanksgivng and Christmas. This herb has long been a health nourishment and healing remedy. Most commonly used to help prevent urinary tract infections in women. Clinical studies shows that women who consumed  moderate amount of cranberry juice or supplements had less problem of urinary tract infections.

Cranberry is available in the forms of whole and jelled fruit, dried fruit, juice, and  capules.  When purchasing cranberry juice make sure it is real juice.

A study conducted at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvannia found that drinking three glass of cranberry a day may increase your HDL cholesterol  (known as good cholesterol) up to 10% and increase antioxidants in your body by 120%. Antioxidants may enhance your immune system and reduce the risk of heart disease.
